This is crunch time folks. We need to flood the Finance Committee members with faxes, phones, call and e-mails (least effective)

Everything else is mere sound and fury signifying nothing until Harry and Nancy do their thing in the dark.”

Nicholas Ballasy reports “a senior aide to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) told CNSNews.com that it is ‘likely’ that Reid will use H.R. 1586—a bill passed by the House in March to impose a 90-percent tax on bonuses paid to employees of certain bailed-out financial institutions—as a ‘shell’ for enacting the final version of the Senate’s health care bill, which Reid is responsible for crafting.”

This procedure is the same unconstitutional procedure they used to pass the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act (EESA) back in November to give Hank Paulson his ‘$700 Billion Bazooka.’

Article I, Sec. 7: ALL bills for raising revenue will originate in the House.

They are doing exactly what they did with EESA/TARP – by passing the house by putting the HC bill on a revenue bill. This results in the Senate originating a revenue bill!

Washington DC must be shut down now. We are about to lose our country entirely.

In 1935, Huey Long of LA (Democrat) held the Senate floor for 15 hours while he read form the telephone book, a mail order catalog and the newspaper. The longest filibuster on record is that of Strom Thurmond of SC (when he was a Democrat) He held the Senate floor in 1957 for twenty-four hours

The Impact of Filibusters

Obviously, a filibuster has the greatest impact on the Senate when a 60-vote majority cannot be assembled to invoke cloture. In that case, the measure or other matter that is being filibustered is doomed unless its opponents relent and allow the Senate to vote on it. Even if cloture is invoked, however, a filibuster can significantly affect how, when, and even whether the Senate conducts its legislative and executive business. In fact, it is not an exaggeration to say that filibusters and the prospect of filibusters shape much of the way in which the Senate does its work on the floor

Why shouldn’t Republicans/Conservatives filibuster now? Is there less at stake then in the past? Wouldn’t that get press and therefore give them an opportunity to expose the plan to more Americans?

So the Democrats/Liberal/Fascists can use cloture to stop the filibuster but it takes 60% of the Senate, every Democrat and both Independents and.... time

“The votes of only 51 Senators are needed to pass a bill on the floor. It can, however, require the votes of 60 Senators to invoke cloture on the bill in order to overcome a filibuster and enable the Senate to reach that vote on final passage.”

Conservatives can use the filibuster to our country’s benefit, to tell the American people why they are doing it. The Democrats/Liberal/Fascists can counter with the "Nuclear Option"

But would they? They want bi-partisan, or at least the illusion of it and if they do go ahead with a Nuclear Option, Republican/Conservatives can counter...Democrats/Liberal/Fascists squashed debate again, rammed through another massive government control spending bill. They wanted this thing; we didn’t want any part of it!

Either way this bill is going to get passed because the “usual suspect” RINOS will defect (think Olympia Snowe) but it could be in lesser form and with the Republicans/Conservatives showing that they did everything to stop another massive spending bill of over a trillion dollars coupled with a government take over of our liberties! In other words, their job.

Lets’ face it what do they have to lose?
Republicans/Conservatives have been shut out, disregarded and disrespected 37 ways to Sunday by this administration, especially by Pelosi and Reid. Remember Pelosi hissed, “We Won” and then proceeded (excuse my language) to bitch slap the Republicans/Conservatives around.

We have had tea parties, calls/faxes e-mails, taken to the streets, counter-protested, gave and went to Town Halls, blogged, YouTubed, we have went toe-to toe and sometimes face-to-face with the opposition. And worked over time because we know it takes ACTION!

I want to see some courageous forget-about-my-career action from The Hill!

Instead of focusing on the opposition entirely, perhaps we need to focus and demand that those on our side have a tea party of their own!!

Is the Tea Party Movement experiencing post-partum psychosis?

Has the grass-roots Tea Party Movement run out of steam? Many Washington insiders seem to think so. The buzz around the nation’s capital is that opponents of ObamaCare pretty much shot their wad on September 12 when two million of them travelled from every corner of America to show up on the National Mall in protest of out-of-control government, of which ObamaCare is indicative.

Senator Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) expressed this fear yesterday to The Hill newspaper:
“Crapo said that he credited the August recess protests with having created enough of an impression among his colleagues for them to have voted down public option amendments in the Senate Finance Committee, but he worried the protests haven't had enough of an impact as the debate moves forward.

‘I'm concerned that that impact is not as deep as they thought it would be,’ he said.”

Some Senators go further according to conversations with several Hill staffers. Many Democrats and Republicans looking to vote in favor of some version of ObamaCare Lite we call it RHINOCare, are telling themselves they have weathered the storm and can go back to business as usual, cutting deals in the back room to expand Washington’s reach into the lives of individuals and feather the nests of their friends and cronies who feast like parasites on American taxpayers.

Unfortunately, evidence that this attitude may be warranted is everywhere to be seen by anyone monitoring the email traffic among grass-roots organizers. Soon after 9/12, one prominent Tea Party organization had a very public nervous breakdown on the Internet as they fought over ownership of intellectual property and purged their board of directors. Astro-turf groups out of Washington, DC are using the residual glow of 9/12 to raise gobs of money over the Internet but there is no evidence of real, follow-up grass-roots actions to put a stake through the heart of ObamaCare.

Much of the discussion among activists has wandered off into rancorous bickering over the wisdom of convening an Article V constitutional convention while the primary focus of the overall movement seems to be obsessing over Barrack Obama the man rather than the disastrous policies he is trying to jam down America’s throat, especially a government takeover of healthcare. Many email scribes in the various Google Groups of the movement seem more interested in re-running the 2008 presidential election than defeating the policies the winner of that election wants to impose on the country. Some of the rhetoric is absolutely demented not only delegitimizing the Liberty Movement before it finds its legs but actually scaring the hell out of many conservatives and libertarians who want nothing to do with the kind of personal invective and hate being spewed all over the Internet.

Even more troublesome than the tangible evidence of lethargy and disarray among the grass roots is the resounding silence of the dog that isn’t barking: The demonstrations at Senators’ Capitol Hill offices that are not occurring; the Senate telephone system that has not become overloaded; the mailbags of cards and letters opposing ObamaCare that are not arriving in the Senate mail room; the fax machines that sit idle in Senate offices; the gazebos in town squares across America that are not occupied by gatherings of citizens opposed to a government takeover of healthcare; the YouTube videos not being posted of boisterous gatherings outside local Senators’ offices demanding to meet with Senators when they are home on weekends; the demands for town hall meetings that are not being made by local citizens.

The Tea-Party Movement gave birth to a baby Liberty Movement September 12, which with care and nurturing could grow up to be a formidable force for freedom and prosperity. But since then the Liberty Movement’s parent has gone into a deep post-partum depression that in some cases verges on post-partum psychosis.

If Mama Movement doesn’t get her head straight and her act together soon, she will end up killing her offspring in a fit of self-obsessed abuse and neglect. Or, perhaps worse, the organized Republican Party, agent of the state, and their various Astro-Turf organizations will kidnap the infant movement from its neglectful and abusive parent and give it a foster home in the DC Establishment where it will be showered with money and attention, indoctrinated into practical politics and taught to mind its manners and vote for the lesser of two evils for the rest of its life.

The White House Gets Sued for Its Fishy Email Program

These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can't keep track of all of them here at the White House, we're asking for your help. The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) and the Coalition for Urban Renewal and Education (CURE) have filed suit in the District of Columbia Federal Court against the White House Over the "Sounds fishy, spy on your neighbor and send an email" program which drew fire last month.

Robert of San Jose, CA, a feisty Constitution lover started the ball-rolling on this idea and I’m so glad to have the privilege of working with him.

STRIKE DAY
The Federal Government has gone over the edge.
While we have a deficit of $65 trillion+, the 111th Congress and our President just keep spending, spending, spending. Our elected representatives are ramming pieces of legislation into law faster than a speeding bullet and they don’t even know what’s in them.

Our money supply is controlled by a shady, extra-constitutional entity that has no oversight and carte blanche to print monopoly money at will, devaluing our currency and implementing a stealth tax by way of inflation.

Money is just a uniform way of valuing a product, good, service, or time. When you work, you are being compensated for your time. When government taxes you, they are taking some of your time, taking some of your life away.

Since government spending has reached levels so far beyond what can possibly be repayed without levels of taxation well into the future that are astronomical, government will be taking more and more of our time, more of our lives away. Based upon what has already been spent, government will be taking a lot of our childrens’ and grandchildrens’ time, and lives too.
Many of us know – THIS MUST STOP!

We make phone calls, we send faxes, and emails to the point of locking up websites and switchboards, where staffers shut off fax machines, but they’re still not getting the message.
We’ve taken to the streets in the millions at Tea Parties and they still do not get the message.

Since our previous efforts to get through to government don’t seem adequate by themselves to get the point across, and we cannot wait until 2010 to vote people out of Congress, we need to take further action:

It’s time to crank it up a notch!

We need to hit government right where it currently lives; in it's pocketbook. Government’s pocketbook is tax dollars.

Government entities tax every aspect of our daily lives from the income earned through our jobs, homes we live in, phones, we communication services we use such as, our phones and Internet, gas we put in our cars, our leisure activities from the adult beverages we may drink to the hotels we stay in on vacation. Even in death, the government wants a cut through estate / inheritance taxes. All of these activities are some form of commerce from which layers of government benefit.

In order to get the message across that it is time for government to be reduced in size and power to its proper role, we must choke off access to our money by shutting down as many avenues of tax collection as possible.

We propose a STRIKE, meaning that anyone who agrees that government is over the edge, pledges to refrain from all exchange of commerce.

What would a strike entail?

Do not go to work.
Shut down your business.
Do not shop for goods or services such as gas, groceries, movie rentals, clothing, fast food, pizza delivery, car maintenance, hair cuts, etc., etc.
Do engage in any banking transactions of any kind such as ATMs, drive thru, loan closings, etc.
Do not make major purchases such as a car, appliances, property, or a TV.
Do not engage in financial markets such as stock transactions, 401k account changes, etc.
There is NO question that this requires sacrifice from everyone who participates.
We do not suggest that if you are in an employment situation that is tenuous due to a downturn in your industry, that you risk the loss of your job. Go to work if that’s the case. You can do your part by otherwise not engaging in any commerce whatsoever.

A strike could be effective if it were one time thing BEFORE Congress leaves for the August break. We propose Friday, July 31.

A strike could be even more effective if we do it once a month (the last Friday) thereafter UNTIL WE GET THE DESIRED RESULTS.
